Looking to buy a Diagnostic tool and looking for latest opinions on the Nanocom or the Hawkeye total.
Have scanned through a lot of threads but most are getting a bit old now and wondering what the general opinions are of the two at the minute?
I know that the Nanocom will do a couple of things that the Hawkeye won’t but would it be worth the extra £80 or so. I don’t need anything like programming keys etc. as the Defender doesn’t have anything fancy like Central locking ,ABS etc! The attraction for the Hawkeye is that it isn’t locked to just the Defender and covers all LR up to 2014 whereas the Nanocom is specifically for the Defender TD5. I don’t want to get one that doesn’t do the job but being a tight Scotsman I don’t want to spend extra for something I won’t need

I have a Hawkeye Total as I need to cover TD5 D2 and D90. So far the only limitations I have found are that I could not read or adjust the EKA code and it simply does not deal with live data as well as the Nanocom. Not sure if the Nanocom can record live data to assess later, but the Hawkeye doesn't, so you need two people, one to drive and one to make notes. Overall though, happy with my choice so far.
