P38A Nanocom not liking eas

So, did a few other non noisy bits first thing so as to not annoy the neighbours.

Disconnected everything under the bonnet to do with EAS and it made no difference at all. Also had the battery out overnight to give it a good charge/top up (was replacing steering wheel anyway so needed to disconnect).

I have one other problem that I don't know is related or not (I suspect not) - when the engine is running, the battery light occasionally flickers however the dashboard display does flicker between normal status and a door or bonnet being open (if it is). Previously, it was just stay on the message saying 'Bonnet Open' and stop when closed. At the moment, however, it flickers between that and 'normal' very quickly. I'll try get a link to a video on YouTube or something. Here's a video:

Only common point I can see is the BECM itself or connections into / out of that.

BECM should not impact EAS diagnostics. They use different pins on the OBD connector. All that's required is for the EAS ECU to be powered up, a working timer relay, and continuity from OBD connector pins 11 & 12 to the EAS ECU.

Do you reckon. EAS ECU needs feeds from BECM or it will not work.

It's locked as far as I'm aware.

I've got a replacement timer relay on its way, too.

Yes, appears to be unlocked.
Should point out, too, that nothing has changed programmatically or otherwise with the car (BECM, EAS, etc) since i last used Nanocom with success!

You may like to read the BBS BECM write up and unplug the plug from the socket in BECM mentioned in that and see what you get.

Well, replacement timer relay arrived and plugged that in - absolutely zero difference.

Plus side: it hasn't dropped *at all* from where it was left on standard height on Sunday.

Probably being stupid here. I see mention only about height indicators on the dash in that document?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this @domino ?

I can't get the Nano to talk to my EAS either. I haven't checked the connections under the LHS panel, and she's been stood a while so corrosion is a possibility, but how did you fix yours?
