Hi all, not posted for a while, tho' still look in. Thought I'd share this; Since before xmas, my blend motor had jammed only to direct hot air to the screen. No big deal I thought so did not bother to fix it. However, it was a hot day today, so there I was mucking about with the HEVAC, pressing the vent direction buttons. The bloody thing started working:scratching_chin: All I need to do now is find where the A/C gas is leaking from:confused: and fit my rear air springs
 
The flap sticks, eightinavee came up with a mod involving a self tapping screw to cure that.

Yes for the rear distribution flaps. Blend flaps and front distribution flaps rarely seize. The main seize points for the distribution flap is the bearing point directly behind the rear flap drive gear, the screw trick opens the case and relieves pressure on this. Or the drive quadrant bearing point itself, which needs the quadrant removing and freeing off. Only proper way to do it is to remove heater unit strip clean and re grease. The seal heater to dash will have blown away in dust long ago and this should be also replaced to return air distribution efficiency. But all this needs dash out and is more than likely beyond the scope of most owners.
 
Rear distribution flaps?????

In the heater unit there are two sets of distribution flaps that run the entire width, one set to the rear of the unit (the one that seizes) and one set to the front of the unit. That is why the quadrant the motor is attached to drives two gears. The blend motors just drive a small flap at either side of the heater unit for independent side to side heat control.
