hi there i have just bought my first ever big toy a range rover p38 2.5 i got it from cardif and i live in maidstone in kent well this is how the story goes i sold my van to buy a 4x4 to tow my caravan i looked and looked and i found this one with a porley engine so off we went to collect it with me driving my dads chipped up 53 plate td5 (what a beast 
)we got there got it on the trailer and had to wash it on the way home as it had stood for a time and the misses would of killed me if she had seen it when we looked at the engine we could of fitted a head gasket as the garage had taken the head off and told the last owner that the engine was feeked but thay wanted to earn some more money i think i had alread got another engine in the mean time so at home we pulled the lump out and started to fit the new one :doh: well everthing was diffrent from the sump to the inlet manifold so at last a bare block later and all my bits fitted it is in the car will be fitting it up on thursday night lucky for me the last owner had the diesel pump reconed and the injectors are brand new all in nice new boxes the garage said that was the problem then told them the engine was dead and did not fit the new parts so i will keep you posted on my progress
