Nice little project. I want a series!

Find your own, Itchy's mine now!

S71 kindly gave me an oil filter yesterday and suggested ideas about her provinence.

On his suggestion I emptied a can of GT85 on the spring6s and now I don't fink she needs new shocks..

what you taking advice from our/the Series71 about land rover maintenance  looks like a good one , you could take Dr Evil's advice about fitting a V8 into it :D

Looks very nice that! What you mean about sorting out the paint? There's one for sale down the road from me, the guy got a galvi chassis and painted in black to look original and repaired all the panels so they are dent free and resprayed the whole lot, it does look nice and fresh and new but some how it just looks wrong. A bit scuffed and battered suits Land Rovers so well. I think your one looks great just the way it is.

So I gave 'er a bit of a wash yesterday - after the night I had in the Social Club on Saturday (Jack Ratt's cider fuelled sea shanty punk!) I wan't capable of anything more taxing!

While jetwashing quite a bit of paint flaked off - I think a paint job will be in order at some point.

Anyway - here she is all clean (ish).

I was about to change the oil s'evening and fit the filter S71 gave me. Had a quick check first and ee's given me a fuel filter..! I thought it seemed a wee bit small. Lucky I didna drain the oil before checking or I'd be a bit stuffed tomorrow.

Anyhow, thanks for the fuel filter S71! :D It doesn't look like it's been changed for a good few years.

explains why the matiz died as well , :behindsofa:

Whilst fitting the retro CB I found out what a fire hazard the wiring is! The unfused permanent live accessory socket wire had worn down through the fabric insulation and been wrapped in a bit of vinyl tape - I cutted it orf and used that as the feed for the CB...

The CB ('cos we all love piccies).

And the bird's nest in the dash!

Would I be *daft* to think of a complete re-wire...!?

What a couple of days...

CB fitted (properly). I wanted the twig on the back of the tub but the cable wan't long enough so it's on the front wing through the wing mirror hole. Changed oil and filter. Changed the headlights for crystal Wipacs, what a difference! Changed the fuel filter (thanks S71). Fitted an overdrive. Swapped the wheels for the Wolfs what were on Scratchy. Fitted a locking hasp on the fuel cap. Brushed to old derv from the filter and oil from the change on the springs.

Then run out of derv when I went to the Co-op. Taxi home to get the jerry can, noticed doosel dripping from the fuel filter - hadn't nipped up the drain tap.

The water pump sounds a bit noisy but ready for some gentle lanes tomorrow, let's see how the old girl likes it!
