Hi all, im pretty new to the site but like what i see, this is my first post! Recently swapped an old hilux for a 2.5 petrol defender 90 (think i got the better end of the deal) 
but still jealous of anyone with a 200tdi!! it needs a bit of work, so got new fuel tank and mirrors, got it insured last week and was out driving this evening when i lost power driving up a hill with foot to the floor. (also had a bit of trouble starting this morn) i managed to drive it home but it spluttered the whole way! I think it might be burning rich as there is sometimes a smell of petrol in the cab. im no mechanic but might this be carbeurator trouble perhaps?? the choke also is not running smoothly. would really appreciate any advice, thanks!
