Not much to report however dropped the headlining, removed the old saggy cover, cleaned up the backer and just have to get a hold of something to re-cover it with.

All the A B C & D pillar trims were covered in mildew, tried cleaning them up but stripped some of the velour type covering so had to take them back to the beige plastic underneath, took a few hours but look a lot better.

Still no parts delivered!

I done the same to mine, its better than the tatty flocking i had but not a fan of the 'hearing aid beige' but im not sure if to paint them or if its worth reflocking!

Had a few hours today so firstly cleaned all the old glue and rotten foam from the headlining, refitted the liner minus the new cover for now.

Picked up a sump gasket yesterday but found last night that it doesn't fit, spend an hour taking it back today and pick up some RTV silicone which would appear to be the correct spec for my year of P38, no gasket.

Removed the oil pressure sensor, so far this has been the worst job yet, eventually fitted a new one and rebuilt the offside engine or so it seemed.

No time to re-fit the sump as its work time

getting there biggee :)

how come you changed the pressure sensor? Would it not be worth checking the pressure relief valve?

Follow up re the oil pressure problem

Fitted the new oil pressure sensor, checked the Pressure release valve spring through the oil filter housing and the spring moved freely (don't really know what this means)

Sump back on new oil and filter.

Started the motor and no change - oil light still on.

Motor was left for a week and went out this morning to drop the sump again and remove the oil pump.
However on start up, oil light out

Ran up to temp and light still out

Any ideas?

Don't think this is helping the low oil pressure!

Dropped the sump again to start taking the oil pump apart.
The oil and filter were changed last week and the engine has ran for less than half an hour, this is what I found today

Thoughts?

Water in the oil (obviously).....have you had the front cover off at any point??

I haven't no. Just the sump.
Before refitting it last week, I cleaned the inside and it was spotless.
For closer inspection the white staining appears to run the entire length of the sump from the sealant down.
I'm wondering if the sealant has been water based and on mixing with the fresh oil has caused the reaction.
