The engine stand arrived and is all together. Seems ok quality bar the array of different substituted washers.

The plate that bolts to the engine required some modification to bolt to the block but 4 cuts with the angle grinder and its all bolted up nicely.

I guess this much carbon build up is normal for a circa 70k mile v8?

The rocker covers do seen pretty caked in it but that will be getting cleaned off.

The Left hand side rockers seem a bit cleaner I guess this may be down to an engine flush at some point in its life.

The cam seems in good condition no wear that I can see at the moment the push rods do seen a bit rusty with a lot of build up of carbon again. Is there anything to look out that may be worn out at this stage ?

The water pump is nicely rusted there was a nice pipe of rust when I took it off the housing.

I am looking at what I should be replacing, obviously any gaskets I take off will be replaced and the cam as a matter of cause I guess. Do the push rods usually need changing?
