My first off roader - defender 90

Hopefully get some time to put it all on soon!! Need to get my ass in gear and order paint first though. Mrs is starting to love all the defender parts in the spare room now ha.

Finally got off road for the first time! No where special but loved it, certainly got the bug now

Couple hick ups but overall a fun night!

I'm hoping to join the Defender club by the end of the year but as soon as possible, really. Looks a helluva lot of fun!

I've had everything from fast cars to comfort but I love the defender! I have no radio and my road noise is horrendous but it still puts a smile on my face everytime lol! Just can't wait to get all the parts fitted and give it a lick of paint You won't regret it!

Snorkel/A bar + spacers fitted

Looks good. I want mine back on the road!

It's slowly but surely going to come together! Can't wait to get it painted and get the welding done ready for the salt

Are you painting the roof aswell, or leaving it white?

Painting it all. Ordered my graphite grey RAL 7024. Not sure whether to do the roof black or all grey?

Hmm, I have thought about that, but it seems to have become the "chavvy" thing to do to paint the roof black. I quite like them black...

I am considering getting the roof on mine black matt vinyl wrapped as the lacquer has all come off.

Yeah you're right there. But with grey the black roof won't stand out as much! I'm going to do it all grey at first but not sure if I will need the black roof to break it up abit?

Got a question to pick your brain James! I'm replacing my windscreen corners soon as they've been filled in the past. Would it be better to get galvanised ones or can this make corrosion worse where it meets to the old metal?

Ha, no idea!

I think galv is pretty unreactive so you should be ok. Hopefully someone who actually knows what they are talking about will come along

Busy day today, got the Landy painted! looks a bit streaky in the pics but it was still wet. Will get some more pictures up tomorrow



The back door does need another coat as we missed a few bits on the 3rd coat lol. Was getting hungry!!

Taking the stickers off the sides was a pain in the ass!! Couldn't believe the amount of salt underneath the bottom edge!!

Also found out the previous owned loved filler kept sanding back and no rust but just filler so not the worst news but will cut it out and sort soon

I'm not sure whether to leave the roof white or go all grey or a black roof?

Chequer plating back on.

All cleaned up. Chuffed with it!

Couple little bits done today!

Steering wheel off and new one fitted.
Front/rear light guards fitted
Chequer plate for rear corners sprayed

Next plans are save for spare wheel carrier along with new wheel/tyre
Rock sliders
Get CD player fitted
RX8 seats and some sound proofing
