My dear 90 missed a heart beat.

any ideas what this could have been?

was driving through town had only just got back in it after about 20 mins in town was dirving fairly slow back out of town and it just cut out.

wouldnt start again... hmm i looked at my dash no lights were flashing up and the temp was normal and i had fuel.

pushed it out the way of about 20 cars and a bus behind me and flipped the bonnet.

nothing looked out of place or damaged no fluid leaks and no cabels broken.....

so u unclipped a little conector close to the throttle cable and give it a little blow..... and then i tryed it again wouldnt start..... waited a few mins and then it started again....


any ideas?

Wondered if major earth fault if no dash lights etc

I'd check battery terminals are tight and main earths (gearbox, engine strap etc)

It shouldnt need any electrics to run though would it? I know mine doesnt, just to start and thats it

Doesnt it need a live for the fuel cut off solenoid?

Earthing issue I reckon.

Ah good point. Well, all it would need is for the battery to hold enough power for it. I had to drive about for a week or so without an alternator belt and it sat for about a fortnight after that and for some reason it still started first time and drove fine
