'tis good fun.
I have already answered the multiple "just do it" comments so I will not bother again.
I am not the type of person that needs to have the last laugh.
I have had so many laughs from all of the arrogant stupid condescending comments, that I do not need a final laugh at the end.
Once you idiot stop making your insulting stupid comments here I will forget about this thread and get on with my life.
My life does not revolve around this forum.
But thanks for giving me one more laugh.
Exactly!Nothing much to listen or read to be honest just the same drivel repeated.
eh?Exactly!
The same stupid comments from you guys, and me responding with facts to your stupid gotcha questions and comments.
Like the idiot today who said that I must be an idiot for not knowing that changing the ratio of the differentials does not affect the speedo, when on almost every car that is exactly what happens, proving that they are the idiot.
So once again somebody makes a stupid comment thinking that they've caught me out and I prove once again that they are an idiot.
28 pages of that, and every time after being proven wrong, they disappear, not admitting that they were wrong, and then appearing again a few days later to try another stupid comment that gets proven wrong.
But you guys just never give up, 0/60 win lose ratio and you still come back for more!!!
You cannot make this sh!t up.
I recently finished fixing a leak on the gearbox and replacing all the brake pipes as they were rusted, and recently fixed a broke drive shaft, and replacing the brake shoes and next I am fixing a transfer case leak.Fit the diffs & I'll buy your heep of shite for scrap as you dont have the skills to repair it, all mouth no action.
Laughing ?? everyone on this thread is laughing at you, im sorry for the way you feel.
Because I am laughing at you idiots, not trying to solve my problem.
I have repeatedly said that but you seem to not listen to what I say.
And that is why I wouldn't waste my time giving you the actual answer to your question, because you would not listen to it, because you have not listened to me today.
(FYI I use voice dictation and I can write these apparently long answers in about 30 seconds so they aren't long, you just aren't used to using voice dictation or thinking.)
Maybe you didn't realise but gearbox driven speedometers went out decades ago, really know your stuff don't you? Most cars run the speedo off the gearbox so that is why I assumed that with the L322.
In that case changing the differential ratio does affect the speedo.
Maybe you didn't know that, but you can look at the attached image for that fact.
But the reason that I asked the initial question was to learn such things.
I did learn that the L322 runs the speedo from the ABS system, from RRPhil on another forum and I thanked him for that important information.
But if you read my initial comment I pointed out that if the speedometer was affected then it would not bother.
I did that to avoid hysterical people bringing up that irrelevant issue.
Got any more empty insults that prove that you don't know anything about cars, because you don't know that most cars actually run their speedo off the gearbox, not the ABS?
And you do not know that in most cars changing the differential ratio will change the speedo accuracy.
Do you understand that every time you try to make me look stupid you only make yourself look stupid?
That is why I keep coming back here.
What is your win / loss ratio, for all of you guys attacking me here, 0/60?
Congratulations for losing again.
Oooh "Losers" Trumps favorite word.I have answered this about 100 times now.
Ok not 100 times but it feels like that.
Go back to my original question and you'll see that I have no interest in fuel saving.
I very clearly explained my reasons in my initial question and multiple times since.
But the Einstein's here seem to have no interest in my situation, only their own.
I have also explained that I have no interest in taking the plunge just to educate people here.
In fact I have said several times that if I do it then I will never tell anyone here the outcome.
Firstly because you guys are losers and you don't deserve the information, and secondly because none of you will believe me if it goes great because that will prove you all wrong.
But thank you for proving my point, that Range Rover will have chosen the differential ratio for a wide range of scenarios and I am using it in a narrow scenario and therefore the original differential ratio of the car is not relevant to my situation.
So specialI've already answered this question several times so I won't bother again.
But my car is not the same as your car or the typical L322 and my situation is not the same as your situation.
You are welcome to go through the many pages of this insane thread to find the answer to this question, I cannot be bothered.
Just like a politicianAnd what should I trawl through all this **** to maybe find something resembling an answer.
You post long replies yet seldom answer any questions, odd really.
And my car is a 23 year old car so "decades ago" applies perfectly to my car!!!Maybe you didn't realise but gearbox driven speedometers went out decades ago, really know your stuff don't you?
And... many modern cars still use the RPM of the output shaft of the gearbox to determine their road speed, they just don't use a cable from the gearbox, see the attached image.Maybe you didn't realise but gearbox driven speedometers went out decades ago, really know your stuff don't you?
Because nobody really knows. And what should I trawl through all this **** to maybe find something resembling an answer.
You post long replies yet seldom answer any questions, odd really.
That looks like a google AI result. Name a car (not mercan) that still uses gearbox output for speed ?And... many modern cars still use the RPM of the output shaft of the gearbox to determine their road speed, they just don't use a cable from the gearbox, see the attached image.
In that situation changing the final drive ratio in the differentials will affect the speedo.
Some cars only use the ABS ring, but this is not done in every modern car, so once again you are wrong with your gotcha comment.
One of my cars is 31 years old, no gearbox drive to the speedo. The fact remains, you lack detailed knowledge about your car.And my car is a 23 year old car so "decades ago" applies perfectly to my car!!!
OMG you idiot!!!
How dumb are you?
I think that wax the GM box not the ZFand the one thing you havent taken into account is the gear box, known to disintegrate on a whim, changing the diff will put more stress on it when pulling away
still putting more stress on it, which ever box it isI think that wax the GM box not the ZF
Exactly and on the engine and torque convertor. Shame BMW/JLR didn't know about the OP, could have saved them thousands of man hours mon developing and optimising the engine/drive line combination.still putting more stress on it, which ever box it is
