Saw the title and thought, jeez, another abortion on the way!

.... but that's pretty damn good!

Would like to see more pics of it now it's finished from all sides, but I like that a lot.

Thanks, I am really pleased with the results. Ill upload more pics when i get it home today, the front bulkhead and wing lets it down at the minute as its a little battered.

Looks like a good job. Just curious, but what do you want the pickup bit for?

I've got the same Halfords toolset - love it - it does loads of jobs for it's size. I've used the little 1/4" ratchet for much bigger jobs that I should have, always expecting it to snap but it keeps on going! Case is absolute crap though.

Looks good mate, more pics the better as mine is going to be a king cab when I get the chance,

Picked the set up at the start of feb and got it cheap as they left the sale sticker on after the sale had ended so my luck was in that day, good case but i stood on it and broke it..

I like the truck cabs as its only a toy for me and we do a lot of playing, but my mates all have truck cabs so i wanted something different, plus i wanted some more dry storage. I had a sheet of chequer plate that was going to be the back but it turned out to be 90mm short in width so we used the tool chest, now i have my dry storage on the inside, the chest for my oils straps and a few tools and i still have the back for any other bits. Im going to chequer the rest of the tub floor and figure out where my spare wheels going to sit as well as either fit the bottom of the rear door or get a drop down tailgate.

Ill get some more pics on as i finish it off.

On another note:

The roof gutter goes up perfect on one side and is 1 maybe 2 mm apart on the other side, is this steel or ally? Was wondering if i could drop some weld around it or not.

thanks!

and nice 1 Aaron I thought the gutter was steel so ive been told. Hopefully can just pop some weld into the gap and sort that.

Well I was wrong anyway  Out of interest I tried a magnet on mine yesterday and well it didn't stick.
I always thought they where steel. Obviously not

Decided to start doing a few bits to get it ready for an mot...

Also found a little bit of pipe so I decided to cut out my middle box and make a straight through pipe!

Box off and one side cut.

Just before welding.. Got some gas instead of using gas less and its waaaayyy different but a lot better!

Ive been doing a lot of stuff on my truck lately, bucket seats twin battery ect ect but ive been putting this job off as well as the bulkhead repairs as I just couldnt bare to face what was hidden by the nob who had the truck before me.. (lots of filler ect)

As you can see, what he's done is some bodge welds and then used filler around the weld to hide the fact its been welded..

this whole back corner has been bodged and ive had to cut back until i can find somewhere to weld to... Have also considered a new chassis today.

Decided to see how a piece of L shape plate would sit then I thought ah why not start cutting it in..
