Smokes!!! :D :D :D

Course it does - I have a neighbour with a few spare engines kicking around.
Should I throw in the V8 or do the TDI. I am not bothered about the fuel consumption because I am unbelievably wealthy. No really, I just won't be doing many miles and I'm past caring about MPG

Thanks for your opinions :)

if ya want it to start like yer "SLITTY" go the tdi route the v8 is a tad more tempramental!

My Toyota isn't the greatest of starters Buckshot  so I reckon I'll go for the V8.

Turns out TDi is a Ti. It was from a discovery and the turbo had been removed. Ok, I am sure it will be an improvement to the 2.25 diesel but still a little underpowered for a 109 I reckon.

So now the choice is a 2.25 petrol or a V8. Apparently there is not much between them as far as the fuel consumption goes so it has to be the V8.

Can anyone recommend a conversion kit ???

nowt wrong with a 2.25 dooooozel they will be running long after most other engines have died

True ;) I ran a 2.25 for 5 years in an 88. I personally think an 88 can just about get away with it but a 109 loaded and I mean loaded with timber climbing the hills around where I live will not work for me. It's not that I need speed, I don't live anywhere near motorways and the like, I live in the mountains man and need the bottom end which the 2.25 just don't have. Wish it did! it would save me loads of money and the headache of fitting a new engine :)
