I reckon that aluminium sheet is to avoid / deflect any hydraulic fluid spills from leaks and top ups onto the footwells. I've seen lots of older land rovers with evidence of brake fluid spillage / master cylinder leak which has stripped the paint on the footwell and rust set in. Nearly happened to me.
Will be nice to see this progress.

Proper looking bodge if I do say so but I'd love to know how it's imposed with old newspaper print
Also any ideas why there's two holes in the passenger foot well??

The £200 series 3 arrived this morning and man what a rot box, certainly not as good as I hoped but hey ho it's a good source of parts for the price, it would have cost a fair bit for the parts I've salvaged
This is how it looked this morning
My friend Honda is over from Burundi for 15 weeks with not much to do so much to his wife's delight I've put him to work
It wasn't to long 'til it was in bits on the drive
Check out the holes...
So I've salvaged the complete loom which I can transpose onto the 2a with the fuse box, the seat rails, the steering box, the spare wheel holder from the tub, the firewall on the bulkhead as mines been hacked up, engine mounts, steering box and connecting rods and finally the battery box and terminals.
Anyone know the implications of selling a knackered chassis that's got a registration plate in vin plate, according to DVLA it was last on the road in 2001 and was first registered in 1982 so it won't be tax free for a while.
Rear axle, wings and tub can all go on the bay of e and my scrap pile is growing slowly
