Mudsport 4x4 - anyone used them? + Generic disco suspension question

Looking to get some Disco dislocation kits from Mudsport 4x4

Adrenalin 4x4 Heavy Duty Reverse Type Rear Dislocation Cones - Land Rover

Has anyone used them before? Prices seem quite reasonable to me?

Also - if i'm replacing front and rear springs + adding dislocation kit + new shocks - is there anything else i should be replacing or any parts which are just going to be rust and need grinding off?

I'd look closely at front turrets and turret rings, maybe extended brake hoses, extended bump stops, and depending on what length shocks maybe checkstraps for jacking.

I'd also buy a couple (at least) of UJ's, ready for the inevitable!! Not to mention diff/transfer box oil seals etc .. and oils!!

I'd definitely look at the turrets and some HD securing rings as well as HD spring retainers.

I had a set of those dislocation cones and couldn't fault them. I think they were bought from adrenalin themselves (via their flebay shop) and were a tad cheaper. A friend had an identical set-up as my suspension but with normal chassis mounted cones and the springs regularly failed to relocate, whereas mine always worked

Heh, wasn't meant to sound that way! Easy really, I meant check the turrets, mostly they rust at the spring seat area where the turret rings bolt up. Longer/stiffer/newer springs might put more force through them than they've got used to!

Brake hoses are obvious, but check what happens first with existing hoses .. some Discos came with a loop in the brake pipes that can be unwound to gain more droop in the suspension.

Bump stops will help stop the shocks from bottoming out.

Checkstraps could easily be any quick fasten/release strap to hold the axle end up if you need to jack from the rear or sides to remove a wheel .. don't forget, if you've got all this articulation, you'll have to lift it that far to get a wheel or tyre off!!

The spares are spares .. probably not necessary, but worthwhile, I think ..

I could have added a ****e-load more things to check .. like propshaft lengths, trailing arms, bushes etc etc etc .....

I use them on me disco the old dislocation cones after i fitted the plus 5" never used to relocate properly and they used to clank n bang
Theese ones fitted to the axle are miles better and quieter

It's ok, it's not put me off that much... i'd never do anything on the Landy's if i was put off by a bit of hard work

It's quite a useful list of things to be aware of, thanks. I think it will be a post Christmas / MOT job though
