I know most want mudflaps but I want to remove mine. I have no manual etc. yet and would love to know if the things holding the flaps on are screws or something unusual. They look like slotted screws but as this is 15 years old they won't budge. Any guidance would be appreciated.

A lot might depend on what vehicle it is, I wouldn't expect a Range Rover owner wanting to angle grind the bolts off like we 90 owners sometimes have to do .. :)

When my Indie replaced the rear mud-flaps on my RRC he had to cut off the original 25yr. old fixings & substitute bolts.
I like to keep the RR factory standard as far as practical, but only a 'rivet-counter' will spot the difference

Self tappers into custom fasteners plus bolts on D2's, just fitted two new fronts on mine.

Well they are off. You were dead right thanks. I just had to have enough room for a big screwdriver with a big broad blade so the rear wheels had to come off. I can either bin them or someone can have them for a pint and postage.
