I wonder if this is collaboration, collusion, plagiarism or fraud? In any
event I now don't feel as though I can place my trust in either site
without some reasonable explanation.

Probably using the same "shopping cart" back-end software. I see
it all the time. Looks like a cheap-n-nasty CGI script or something
that you can pick up for free (or very cheaply at least) off the
web and just add your own products to the system. If you look around a
lot of online "shops" you will see many that appear the same as they
just run the same software. Could be that some web designer dude has
gone round to both these places and offered to setup their
websites - hence why they look similar.

In fact, being a real sad (EX)techie, I just took a look at the DNS
records and found that LRPS.com is pointing to the same server that
MM does, and it appears that they are both run through "muddyweb.com"
who look like they specialise in website design for LR sites, which
would explain why the two sites look similar!

I wouldn't let it put you off of these places.

I've used MM before and I don't recall having any problems.

I clocked they had the same name servers, but they appear to be hosted in
separate data centres.

Went back to basics and contacted Craddocks (for all the usual warm
fuzzies).

Just a little disappointed that they appear to have become a true dot.com
outfit - not in stock, that'll be 2/3 days sir.

Distribution efficiencies are still lagging way behind my expectations and
holding back this interweb thingy. How difficult is it to have items
despatched from their actual location to the desired destination?

oh well. maybe there'll be a nice warm snap when I get the parts.

well, I did leave enough hints lying around in this group that I was in
the market. got the impression at one point that I was having one of
those invisible moments - you know the type of thing ... white 110 on a
well lit street and the daft buggers just don't seem to notice you are
there - sometimes have those on the bike I know, but in a /white/ 110? :)

Given you both drive white 110's I feel neither of you can see it other...
perhaphs some smoke may help.

wrong forum, but hey, that site is in need of a makeover (no offence
intended) - do you know how difficult it is to read black & dark blue on a
dark green background?

I'm all in favour of constructive critism - that's the first regarding
black on green (boy did I get some stick for red on blue!) - I'll bear
it in mind, but I have to say I rather like it.

dark text on light background is the best of the lot. You don't actually
have to use black and white, though.

Yours works OK for me, but might not be so good for people with
less-than-optimal colour vision.

you could lighten the green a bit, I guess. Make it more like original
series I green (the name of which I've forgotten), you know, the pale ones.

Don't mind the black on green it was the red on green what screwed my minces.
There's one on the brake kits page even now although I think it says Hits rather
than Kits, but I can't read it.

You know what it says and presumably have good vision. What makes
something easy to read is good contrast between the text and the
background. If you have a light background have dark text, dark
background light text.

I can understand the "LR green" background, a style thing, but it is
the content and information that people want. Make it easy as a whore
on heat for people to get that information, you are selling after all!
See how the yellow "Genuine" or "OEM" stand out or the "Buy" buttons
compared to the black text. TBH the yellow is a bit to LOUD, but how
about white which you use for at least the phone number on the DII
body trim page.

Roman text is also frowned upon by those that know about these things.
Personally I like roman but have recently been using sans serif and it
is easier to read on screen or printed page and presents a "cleaner"
image. What ever that means! My online CV/resume and weather pages are
now mostly sans serif, roman just for big titles, and they do look
better.

Still haven't fixed the one top right though with the moving half
windscreen and black blob top centre. I thought someone had produced a
version that didn't have those artifacts?
