I need the colours of the following wires...

From ignition switch to heaters.
From live side of starter button.

circuit i got dont show a seperate starter button!

have a look at these options.

option one times the heater.
option two times the heater and interlocks the starter, so that you cant start the engine with the timer running.

wodga fink?

Option one would be the one I reckon, so on reely cold days the injun could be started after one and a half heats with the last half heat being a post heat, if you get my drift.

reet then, Grunt.
pic 2 -
12v and ground shd need no explanation.
on lh side of drwg,
top brown wire (to Rly1/86) is the heater live from the ignition switch.
bottom brown wire(from rly2/87a) is timed feed back to heater circuit.
top red/white (dotted wire) (to Rly2/30) is feed from start button.
bottom red/white wire from Rly2/87) is feed back to starter button.

so....
1) operate heater key position.
2) this energises relay1 and grounds pin 1 of timer, thereby starting 10 sec timer.
3) pin 5 on timer is then grounded for 10 secs (energising relay2).
4) this switches the feed from the starter button to the heater circuit and disables the start button.
after 10 secs relay2 reverts back to normal mode and switches volts from the heater circuit back to starter button.

ok?

pic1 does not have the start button interlock.

needs 2 relays as timer is ground triggered - not volt triggered (if yu know wot i mean)

I am sure this aint an elegant solution, but its easy to do - and if yu use relay sockets, easy to fix if a prob occurs.

yup - see attached, although pin 5 aint a switched live - its the load - normally a light, but in this case a relay coil..

yu cud, as the starter button live is live when ignition is on - use that for the 12V supply, if you were using the interlock version.
