Hi all

I know that the question i am about to ask is difficult to answer due to conditions so any help would be appreciated.

I really want to replace my poxy scenic with a discovery (petrol not sure which engine yet) I have spoken to some people i know that have them and they say that they are getting 18mpg, but in LRO magazine they say it can be as low as 13mpg or as high as 27mpg. I drive part way to work on motorways and the rest is country lanes and i need to get 18mpg or more to make it cost effective. Can anyone tell me what i can expect to get roughly and what engine i should be looking at.

Cheers

Rob

well once the lpg conversion is done ten it effectively doubles the mpg becauses it almost half the cost so your getting 2ltrs for the price of 1ltr of petrol.

Try to get one already done as it can cost £2k to get it done and you'd have to do a lot of miles to recover your investment.

Some do borton and some don't. I've known people chase the holy grail of 28 mpg for their TD5 and never come closer than 22 mpg down hill with the wind behind them.

Just dont get an automatic box if you need to drive through congestion or even brisk A roads. Had mine chipped and she is stll heavy on fuel driving conservatively.

Wasnt too bad on motorway down to torquay from Swansea. Fully loaded only used quarter of a tank
