mpg figures

i read in a recent article that the 3.9 v8 with lpg was more frugal than the 300tdi, so just wondered if this was true? what are the real life figures of the 300 and the 3.9

Where the fook did you read that

3.9 V8 about 18mpg on a motorway at 55/60mph 300tdi about 27/30mpg at the same speed

i did think that would be the case, however, in the dream of converting my 110 to a 3.9 i hoped that with the gas bolt on it would make it a little more runnable....

The way I read that though, with LPG being just over half the price of petrol, it puts it back in the running.

However cheapest option would be a TDI running on waste veg oil or biodiesel.
