Does the alternator fit above the injection pump on the drivers side without being too high?

Thanks:)

Being as people already fit them there and you can get kits to do it then I would say you should be fine.

I was wondering also about the belt and will it miss the water pump pulley etc
Will I need a different belt?
Best to find out theses things before making brackets up.

Is it possible to pull the alternator up higher in its original location and fit a longer belt? that would help out with the turbo pipe:)

Pics may help

Yes longer v-belt, cant remember size was a bit hit and miss to be honest
If doing it again I would mount alt slightly higher and nearer rocker cover to get better belt wrap on the water pump pulley.
Its a bit crude but has worked well for approx 3/4k and over 3 years
Weld for alt pivot point needs to be well done
I will see if I can find some better pics

One pic as promised, you can see what I mean about belt wrap, I reckon 2 inches higher and 2 inches nearer rocker cover and it will be almost prefect.
Only had belt come off once and that was because a small branch got up into the pulleys!

Looks promising thanks for the pics:)

I don't have a double pulley on crank so will maybe run it off power steering pump if the belt will miss the water pump pulley
