Moves cold, struggles warm

The car must be able to see the height sensor or it would go into fault mode and freeze the suspension. Can you see any faults on diagnostics?

I didn't have the computer plugged in when testing the suspension. Everything but the front left was moving. I don't totally know how to use the controls either. I was supposed to look at a manual but got distracted.

Best to plug in the computer again then, I guess? See if there's any fault on suspension?

if you can read the live voltages on the height sensors see if they are all changing when you change height, or if the F/L stays the same.
Have you watched it go from access to off road on all 4 corners? I find mine adjusts better in park with the hand brake off, otherwise it can be a bit jerky.

Can I press the button and jump out and look at it move or do I need to keep it pressed down or up?

Also if the button is lit it won't adjust.
Great, I think I had the doors open and the button lit so it was never going to move :p

Think I need a new sensor as no voltage to it (according to computer) and the bracket seems wobbly - maybe this is the sensor he said he broke... the search continues!

If there's no voltage to it the problem is before the sensor.

From the manual

The height sensors contain a circuit board with a Hall effect sensor. The sensor is supplied with a reference voltage
from the air suspension ECU which measures the returned voltage to determine the sensor arm position. The sensors
used on vehicles with xenon headlamps use a sensor with a second circuit. This second circuit is used by the xenon
headlamp levelling ECU.

If you want to check the ECU voltages you should see 5v on the outputs to the sensors

So I plugged computer in and there was voltage to the sensor, so we swapped for another and alas suspension works. Woop woop.

No lights on the dash now when it starts and when I drive around <30mph.

Abs light comes up sometimes then says air suspension inactive, but the car is now level.

It also comes up with trans failsafe prog if I go over 50mph, checked fluid level but I've done searches and it comes up with a pump not working. Done a few miles <30-50mph with no lights at all though.

*edit* seems to be from gear 4/5 the issues begin, feels 'lumpy' and jerky but can do manual mode gears 1-3 with no problems.

Odd one. After coming this far I really don't want to give up. Anything to check for the trans failsafe prog. We've checked the oil and topped it up, not checked since we we have to pump it in (as no guage).

Made really good progress this far though. Still need to do engine oil/service too...
