Mounting waffle boards externally, ideas please...

My waffle boards are too long for sitting in the back of me 'fender so I need to mount them outside. I dont want to put on a roof rack as I dont have one and dont want one. I have got the spare/hi-lift on a swing away at present, was wondering if anyone has done a rear mount for the boards, was thinking maybe moving the no. plate into the spare wheel and placing them on the side...

Bunjees onto your window guards! Or make something a bit better up!

Cut them shorter so the they inside on the wheel arches and work as a shelf.

Mount them on your spair wheel make a mount same as high lift one
