Sadly it has been stood outside for just over 3 years, without being turned over (I know what a plonker :() I would now like to get it up and running, any advice would be appreciated, before I completely knacker the engine etc.

WD40, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter. Change the engine oil. Check the diff oils. Change the timing belt, auxillary belts. Expect perished gaskets. Check coolant hoses, put new coolant in it. You may have water in the fuel.

New oil and filters (Air and oil)
Flush the rad and Water Jacket
Inspect and replace belts (CAREFULLY CHECK THE TIMING BELT UNLESS YOU WANT A HEAD REBUILD!)
Inspect and replace hoses
Take the glow plugs out and drop some oil down the bores
Drain tank and put some new fuel in
Turn the engine by hand to free any corrosion

When and if you get it started, don't rev it for about 10mins, just let it run.

Can't think of anything else.... Oh You might need to give the starter a good wack with a hammer :p

if you crank it over and it refuses to fire, forget easy start as it will have stuck rings.

At your own risk- a rag moist with petrol over air intake is far more effective.
