Hi all, Got my MOT due next month, done the usual checks, replaced the exhaust downpipe, put new springs and shocks all round and now left with the welding..............

As a family we have 2 vehicles, a 1972 VW Camper, mot due wed 12th Aug, and the lovely Landy 200tdi, sept 5th. both booked into the same bloke/garage for welding. Phoned him today to confirm the booking for this monday, and guess what hes let us down, hes running about a month behind.

Has anybody know of any decent welders in the Peterborough cambridgeshire area.

All help appreciated from this soon to be carless family.

What needs welding exactly? If you are specific about what needs doing then there might be a few people on the forum with skills who could help you out and charge reasonably if they are in a good mood!

Good idea. Land rover needs a small hole (about the size of a ten pence piece) doing on the sill, and the usual/common inner rear doors. the VW is a little more major, new sill and various other bit, but is booked in for a pre MOT this tuesday.

many thanks

How far gone are the rear doors?

Bare in mind r.e the sills on the landie that it might only look like a small hole but once you start trying to poke it about to find good metal to weld to could be a fair bit bigger!
