Well ,spurred on by Mr Noisy and Greenhornet i spent a week addressing some rust on the Disco.....
MOT due and everything falls off /stops working..... Exhaust, ABS , Drive belts etc. .... and a rusty Boot floor.
Despite the coldest weather of the winter , armed with a drill, grinder and big hammer i chopped out the rear floor and surrounding rusty bits and luckily had a mate and a brother in law ( who owns a metal Fab company) offer help, mate welded up a new lip for the floor and plated dodgy areas.... brother in law provided any steel i wanted and gave me two pieces of 5mm Ali plate that would fill the boot floor nicely.
The rear seat belt anchors prooved the most difficult part of the whole job, and i ended up cutting them off.

Another few cold days saw the exhaust being changed, new rear shock absorbers, ABS faults cleared and sensors tapped down, new drive belts and filters fitted, slight de-tweak of the fuel pump and swivel oil replaced with one shot.... a general clean of crud around engine and underneath and a major hoover up of crap still left in the car ..... then book in for the MOT....

It passed ! .... a couple of advisarys for track rod ends and rear anti roll bar, which can wait for now..... but strangely no mention of the SRS light thats been on for the last few years...

At least i have my ticket and a car that drives quieter and smoother than it has for a while..... and i've got the rest of the year to fix the other problems.
