MOT time.

Well the disco's been of the road for about three months now, been sorting out the rusty sills floor front inner wing's ect usual stuff (will update my poor disco thread asap so you can all see what ive been doing). Wax oiled, stoned chipped and undersealed all the new steel and myself fooking stuff gets every where. New front indicators and side repeaters, most of the bulbs seamed to have blown or had bad connections, so replaced every bulb on the truck fitted new no. plates. Put my winter wheels and tyres onit, only SE alloy's with some cheap M+S tyres.
Took it for it's mot today and...........................................................































i passed it ,

just a little adjustment to the head light aim.
Was a bit smokey when driving to test station so give it a good clear out on the way, i think most of wickford disapeared under a cloud of doosle soot but went through smoke test no probs.

Was a bit of a shock driving it again, ive been using a fiesta while its been off the road, and forgot how many times you have to turn the steering wheel to turn a corner :doh:, took the 7' width restriction on the way to my work shop a bit slower than the 40 + mph i go through it in the fiesta, it seems a lot narrower in the disco.

I have been starting this list today for mine mot is due in April but know it will fail on all usall :

started on boot floor
so while that's out I will replace the rear crossmember and bushs
then got to do full sill s both sides
then rear belt mounts ( rear inner wings )
then full service and cambelt.

So banking on some dry weekend s should give me enough time to get ready in time what alot to look forwad to lol

would have thought you would need to be going a lot faster then 40 to even get the fiesta though a 7" gap

oh ya and if you have problems with the smoke test get some biodiesel in it.

Smoke test was ok just a bit smokey cos it had been driven in and out of workshop a lot and been sitting on ramp for about a month.

Why? how wide do you think a fiesta is.
Ill tell ya its 5 feet 5.25 inches

And the disco is a little over 6ft 6in, having just looked that up i don't think the width restrction is as big as 7ft ill have to measure it.

Sounds like the fiesta is both as wide, and as narrow, as the Knight Bus

See Harry Potter - and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Vehicle with the ability to change width and squeeze between oncoming traffic. Just playiing with the reference to a 7 inch (7") width restriction in the opening post...rather than 7 feet (7'). Sad...I know..but is a miserable day up here....or that's my excuse, at least....
