L322 mot test

last year when when i went for mot the tester asked me if it was ok to jack it up and let the suspension just hang whilst he carried out the test, none the wiser last year i said ok, but i have been wondering was it a good idea or was everything hanging down on the air bags

It's the height sensors you have to worry about, I'd say No

The tester has to jack the car up to complete the test. Audi q7 has a jacking mode but all this dose is turn the pump off, the wheels still hang on the shocks not the bags ,dont think l322 has jacking mode , But will not turn the pump on if the height sensors detect an out of range condition ie wheels dangling on the shocks so no probs

We've seen problems after jacking up and leaving the wheels dangling due to the sweeper picking up crap from a normally unused part of the track.must be something if you use the search facility.

Left dangling is a problem. Any tester worth his salt will know this. Leave a door open, so EAS will not attempt self-levelling as it is being jacked. My fantastic, previous indy, now sadly retired , also used wooden blocks.
The weird thing is, a Q7 is not an L322

Make sure it is in Wade mode when it is left dangling if it is in access or depressurised for whatever reason you risk pulling the bags apart.

It shouldn't be an issue however with the bags in wade.

Incorrect jacking procedure can cause mayhem. If it drove alright since you must of got away with it or the method he used didn’t upset the system.
