Hi all,
Glad to be able to tell you my Hippo passed with flying colors the yearly technical control (comparable to your MOT). I noticed that the exhaust test gave as value 0.58 which I think is very good. I have to tell that the last 10 kilometers before the control station I drove in "manual" and selected the gears so that the revs were around 4.000 all the time, apparently this "cleaned" the exhaust sufficiently.....

The car is legally ok again until 9/1/2011.

That is good, mine failed first attempt with average of 5.74 but got it down to 0.98 at second attempt.

I always use the same procedure on the way to the MOT, except only for a couple of kms, result in 08 was 0.31.
This year completely forgot, had my wife with me, result was 2.8!

O see that it confirms what I read on other places, nl. to rev. it up for some distance before going to the station, attempting to clean the whole exhaust barrel of all dirt. (Normally the autobox switches gears around 1.9 or 2K revs, only in 5th one can go in higher revs. but with all the speedlimits ........) Good luck to all.
