Morocco March 2016

I am wild camping in Wales for Two weeks from next weekend... just trying to figure out the packing of kit... hey it'll be stacked as normal...lol

Well I hope your stacking is better than mine. As soon as we went off road over the first few bumps everything ended up in the front with us. Bolognese and tomato sauce all over the windscreen.

Sid and I are hoping to get to the LRO show. We hope to go in the rangy, but MOT depending and stuff.
Will be good to catch up with youz all

LOL, not a nice thought...

Some time I will put a kit list together and work it out for Morocco, then do it properly, spares and all that,

then its sorting out the paperwork side.. insurance ect

Now just looking forward to meeting you guys at the Show

Ok we are going in the 90, but I now have to take off and check all the wheel bearings, also it uses water a bit, so I'm going to replace all the pipes, belts and check the diff's. A radio probably would not go amiss either. This of course means Larry will be sold :-( this year.

Don't bother with a radio. You will n ever hear it. Even with your sound proofing.

Flippin ek why has it been made more complicated - and why have we been relegated below car sales - and where has my 110 gone playing in the sand and instead been replaced with a question mark.

I think its now easier to change your Avatar/Pic now Ken. Click on you user name ( Top right) in the drop down box click on avatar. Then just chose a pic from you computer.

Sounds like they may have it ready for the next Morocco trip if you don't make the USA one

Thinking about getting a GPS for general use, ie Geocaching, and general navigation, thinking about the E-trex 20, has anyone got ideas about software/maps avaible for Morocco?

It will be good to catch up with you guys at the LRO

Ken ( Oldun) I'm sure will come back to you. He had one of those type of GPS, not sure which one exactly. I think the main complaint about it was that the screen was too small to show the surrounding terrain which made it difficult to stay on course. I have a Panasonic Toughbook which has GPS and Garmin Basecamp. I'm still trying to master it. Clive also has one. I'm hoping to meet up with them at the LRO and swap notes.

Mine is a Garman 60CSX - but as Mike says it is too small. Next time I will get a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 inch and set it up on the dash. Basecamp is a replacement for my Mapsource where you can download tracks from a German chap ( forget the name just now). With the Tab 3 will be able to load mapping from the internet including a load of old Russian mapping which is particularly helpful in getting away from it all in the Atlas and Anti Atlas. Got the 110 back but there is a load of tweety birdy sounds coming from the front and a vibration from somewhere else in the engine bay - also the night heater has not been fitted as don't know where to put it - put a new thread about this for help in the Defender section. And got the Visa to go to the US after spending one hour outside in a queue and then over two hours inside with hundreds of others in a very stuffy sweaty room!!.
