Well Spotted, I changed the spreadsheet so that the run from Bilbao to Algeciras uses the Spanish rate, about 85p per litre. For the return run it still uses the Moroccon Rate as I'm sure we leave Morocco with Jerry Cans, Cups, Flasks, and upside down hats all full of diesel.

Have e mailed it again.

Thanks will look through that later. Still getting about £100 saving each way by driving though, including tolls too. Will work it out again more accuratly, then consider if its worth the miles.

Certainly within the EU you are only "supposed" to have fuel in fixed tanks that form part of the vehicle when you cross borders.

Don't think Morocco is in the EU  By the time we left Spain all the fuel would be in the tanks - but to be honest I probably won't bother to go to all that trouble to save a few squid, rather work a bit harder and make some more money :p

Rich, let me know what you work out with the driving, my current pref is for the Ferry, but I could be swayed. If not, we can always meet up in Spain :D

My current plan is (bearing in mind i have a second driver), is to get Norfolk line to Dunkirk from Dover, then drive Dunkirk - Saint-Jean-de-Luz (on the south tip of France) in day one, then drive from Saint-Jean-de-Luz to Algeciras on day two. Not for sure though, ive assumed £50 for toll roads, but might be more than that so some extra research is in order.

I could meet up with you somwhere in the north ish of Spain also, but i dont want to drive to Bilbao, thats way off route. My dad will almost certainly opt ferry though if he comes.

Your Dad is a wise man, we can hang out in the pub in the Ferry :) I guess without 2 drivers the road is probably not an option for me..

Ah ok thanks. this one then;

If it does come back working and ours don't, it will be very embarrasing :D

Seriously though, it's pretty cool, what did he get it for ? Did he see anything else good when he was looking, because Ray wants to buy a truck and come along, so if there were some other potentials let me know.

Rich do you want to come to Picadilly Wood next sun ? I have a spare seat in the truck cab if you don't want to ruin anything, I will of course be going beserk :D

Been on a shopping spree for the trip, got way too much stuff, but we'll be pretty comfortable that is for sure :p

It would indeed. But i expect it will be draged on its belly half the way behind our landys! (Even if its realy good we can still say thats what happened on here).

£1300, its (as far as i can see) a nice example. 2.5TD, will outrun my landy, and will get 30-35 mpg. No smoke from it at all, starts at a flick, transmition all works, brakes excellent, steering fine, no rot on the chassis or body. 12 months MOT and near new ATs all round. Hows that for making landrovers look bad value.

Sounds good, but i dont have any wagons to get anywhere at all though! Is my house on the way for you? :D

Sounds good to me. And theres no such thing as too much stuff! Not when youve got a 110. :p

i;m alive still!

Piccadilly wood is good fun, but if you go down certain tracks be prepared to almost definately get stuck!

Hey James,

Are you coming to Morocco with us, it's going to be a hoot :D

Yea Picadilly Wood is going to be a nightmare after all the rain, not sure it is such a good idea really

would love to, but am starting a new job in a couple of weeks and i dont think they would take kindly to taking 2-3 weeks off, after only a couple of weeks!

and at picadilly, i challenge you to successfully cross the stream in the bottom left (as you enter) of the site without getting stuck!

I take it you are bringing your pick up? have you got your SW back yet? The P38 may well be ready in time but it is most definitly not coming! I just spent 2 days nurturing it with copper grease and expensive new parts.

Alpine Head Unit Ordered,
Fridge Ordered,
Winch Ordered,
Split Charge Ordered,

Just got to bolt everything in and weigh the landy to see if I need HD suspension :)

My mobile isnt that reliable, mostly because i dont charge it. :D land line is better, ill send you the number. The P38 is sorted now too but its staying put, its way too fragile (petrol engine). Its got road tyres anyway.
