more oil on the drive

ok so got almost everything on the 110 done this week. bit of self teaching going on and a good few searches on here but its all sorted. except.... im still getting oil on the drive. i have noticed that when its dry i have damp patches around the drain plugs on both diffs, why might it be forced out of there? thought maybe blocked breather kit but cant find anything wrong.
also not getting any light showing the diff lock is engaged, in the middle of investigating that now with me trusty multi-meter but could it be related??
prob sounds stupid to u guys but is it likely to be a big deal?

check your breathers - check they are clear.

Any oil leaking out of hubs?

Wash the diff oil slick with petrol to clean it all off.

i did check but ill check again. is there a front and a back plug? ill explain that - the front plug hangs down out of the diff a fair bit and the rear one i dont want to tighten much because it drives all the way into the diff. want to take it apart and check but never done it and worried it'll end up just stuck on my drive half destroyed!!

What you can do to to eliminate the the level/filler plug is get some PTFE tape wrap it on the threads several turns and refit the plug - if it still leaks then Id say its gasket or pin hole in the case .

Dont forget to wrap the PTFE in the right direction ( you'll wind if off as you tighten the plug )

cheers sypher. thats what my plumber came up with. so now the stupid bit, is there a good place to look on tinternet to see how to remove them plugs, what to look for and check and then how to re-fit and re-fill?? im learning but need neebie walk throughs!

got it sorted! few broken bits and everyone down the hill from my house will enjoy the old oil in the morning but its done. got the cd player, cb radio, inclinometer and a few lights going at the same time so good day ;-)
