Monteverdi

We used to have a R/R Monteverdi in our family (XVC 935X). Does anyone know of it these days? Last I saw (probably 7 years ago) someone had taken the original rostyles off and it was running 8 spokes:der: . Would love to know if it is still about!

That's a shame. Not many of them about in the first place! It underwent some major restoration work in the late 90's have a completely rebuilt engine, refabricated body parts and some mother of all 2mm sills attatched to it! I'd have thought it would have made it a bit longer! Still, as you say, they do tend to fester away and get forgotten. Having read LRM this month I saw a feature on them, which inspired memory. I met Pete Kenworthy, (a Monteverdi nut) a couple of times, bought a rolling chassis off him too!

Oh well, hopefully it made someone happy eh!

If you look at the DVLA car tax site & use the 'Vehicle Enquiry' bit (enter the make as 'Rover' as DVLA seem to think the Range Rover is a Rover & not a Land Rover:crazy: ) that reg shows that its taxed till 30.9.2009 so its still around.

Hi, just to let you know that XVC935X is still in existence and is in very safe hands. Me and my brother have owned the car for about 11 years and it is undergoing a long term restoration along with our other 2 Monteverdi's FAC138Y and MYF6X. As I'm sure you can appreciate restoring Monteverdi's is a bit more complicated that a normal Range Rover (we have also been busy completing the restorations of our Vogue SE's as well as an LSE and SIII County that were factory registered). As you are probably aware the vehicle was registered by the Land Rover themselves and was a development vehicle (hence the Monteverdi logo's on the front wings. We are currently trying to find someone who can fabricate new rear wheel arches. It would be great to hear from you If you have any more details about the Monty from when your family owned it or any photographs. Best wishes.

A quick search on here will show a few members doing up classics to a really good standard. Sure one of them can point you in the right direction. @zen is one off the top of my head.
