Modified Fan cowl for quick remove

Searched but couldn't find anything clear...

There's mention of modifying the fan cowl on the defender (300tdi) so that you can remove it without having to remove the radiator hoses.

Has anyone done this, been racking my brains out trying to figure what would be the best way. I could split it somewhere and put in some kind of latch or I'm thinking removing some plastic around the corner so it can come out one corner at a time. :scratching_chin:

But I'd love to benefit from someone else's experimenting if anyone's done it .

You've got me wondering now as I am 99% certain that you can remove the cowl on a 300TDi without removing the rad hoses.
It is something I have done several times over the years and have never really given it much thought, of course the fan needs to be off but as for the hoses I am pretty certain that it can be flexed out of the way with no modification whatsoever.

Might give it a try at the weekend and then report back.

it does, fan off and it twists enough to get it out.
