Hi I have been told to ask on here as I have a td5 discovery 2 facelift and love it but its expensive to run and wondered if there was anything I can do to make it better on fuel I was told to remove egr valve but not sure if it will make much difference

yes it will make a small difference,but it will help the engine breath better as well,also fit a de cat down pipe on the exhaust.it will go and sound much better.also make sure the tyres are kept at the correct pressures,this will make a big difference.;):D

May help but the biggest difference is yer right foot :)
 
Teguvas is right. I've yet to tow anything with my Disco 2 TD5 so the fuel economy is still good at about 27 mpg.
Remember it's a 2.25 tonne unaerodynamic brick (in a good way! the Disco1 and 2 have a great looking shape imho)

Most of the things you would do apart from engine/egr etc will adversely affect the off road capability of the vehicle.

You could go more road biased tyres or even thinner tyres but that makes them useless off tarmac.

Sometimes its best to just accept it is what it is and don't be heavy on the accelerator
