I plan to convert my Ex MOD 110 Truck cab to a camper van with a soft top. My
initial thoughts are to have a local joiner build in 6mm marine ply - two sleeping platforms one down each side about 28" wide, boxed in underneath and hinged lids so there's easy access to the storage space underneath for sleeping bags, pillows, etc.

Up by the bulkhead, I reckon to have enough space in between the 'Beds' for a single burner stove with an aluminium heat shield to stop the bulkhead heating up. Would be dead handy for morning brews/porridge, single pot cooking.

Anyone done anything like this? Any tips/pictures/better ideas for a conversion?

BTW when not being used as a camper, if I use 2 vinyl-covered mattresses on top of the platforms it should seat at least 3 people either side in comfort.

I did. I did it to my Td5 110 hard top last year except I did only one bed and had cupboards built down the other side with an integral sink and double gas burner, and whale pump tap. Gas and water locker underneath.

Worked a treat. Problem was, hopelessly impractical as anything but a single-person camper. Could only carry one passenger and sleep one person. My new plan should overcome this.

When I sold it, guy had it for a week before someone stole it right from the back of his drive - must have been targeted.
