Mk 1 Disco car alarm

Hi guys, I am looking at replacing the car alarm sounder on my '94 200TDI.

At the moment it makes a dull sound which isn't very impressive or intimidating to a theif I would imagine.

Trouble is I cannot find it!

Anyone know where it is located...?

hi, as far as i am aware it uses the horn as a sounder, same as my freelander , not that i use it , i have had a Cat1 installed.

Hope this helps till someone tells you other wise....

Hey Michael, thanks for your reply.

It would make sense that it uses the horn as many older systems did, however the horn is a really loud and powerful blast that could wake the dead, where as the alarm sounder is a quiet almost dull noise sounding like it is coming from somwhere in the distance.

I don't understand electrics but could it be that there is a problem in the wiring and only part current/voltage (which ever it is) is causing a quieter note...?

This one seams simple but really has me stumped.
