just having a look about my 90 to see why my passenger seat isn't bolted down and oh look, there is my battery... surely something should be across the top of the battery so the seat base rests on it and not the teminals on the battery.

am i missing simething, like a metal plate, or is this normal ?

and if i'm missing this plate can i use one off a 110 or does it have to be from a 90 ( ie are the 110's batter covers bigger than 90's)

as a clue just look under the drivers seat ;) except the 1 yer missing is not screwed down held down with that latch thingy down the front of the seat base
 
ebay will more than likely have a few 'seat box panels' up for grabs but your best bet is to nip down to your local scrap yard. A 110 panel will fit fine and the scrappy shouldn't ask for more than £4 :) You can even make yourself a panel to fit with a sheet of aluminium or steel chequer plate for example.

ah there's meant to be one under the drivers seat aswell.. ah FFS .

Yeah there should be a panel under all three front seats (or under the cubby box in the centre) bloody he'll it must be noisy and drafty!

When I refitted mine I put a strip of one sided sticky draught excluder type tape (you can get it on ebay) around the 'hole' and put the panel on top... makes it a bit more water tight and sound proof. I am thinking the batery box should be vented inside to prevent any build up battery fumes? Someone will put me right. Good spot Beneagles :)... Ebay and google... best tools in the box!

It will have lots of holes in, but if your wading alot I would seal it up completely and not bother sealing the lid to the top. If you seal the battery box then there will be no need/advantage to seal the lid in place. It can also breath from here to. this is what I have done.

I got one, just fitted all me batterys in there and as the winch one is to tall for the lid to go back on, i had to lift the seat 40mm too, so i will make a new one to cover the lot, if anyone wants it PM me i may have a drivers side one too.
