Just test drove a 2005 RR 4.4 Vogue with 93k on the clock. I'm buying from a small dealer who said he took it as a part x. There has been 2 owners from new but when checking the service log it was serviced at 29k, 68k and 92k. My initial thought was that it hadn't been serviced for years between each one however, it seems that the 2nd owner has done considerable motorway miles each year but has had it serviced once a year. Should I be worried? The car is spotless inside and out, looks and drives like it's new.
I have taken the phone number of the garage that has done every service except the last to see if they can tell me anything about the car.

All being well, I'm hoping to be part of the club by Thursday, but not sure if the amount of mileage between services should be avoided.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Do they not have a 30,000 mile service interval?

All the servicing was up to date until 29k, so it seems to me that the 2nd owner was on the road a lot and got it serviced every year instead of every 12-15k.

Hi

i would take a chance if it looks drives amd all the bits and bobs work as they should do and your happy with the price then why not purchase then give it a good service yourself or as part of the purchase deal.

Tony:)

The L322 uses a service indicator to tell when it needs servicing, so if its been done every that must have been what the computer wanted.

To be fair if a guy has been doing 30k miles per year with a V8, he'll probably have the dough to keep it well looked after!

No idea for that specific vehicle, but they usually say "every year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes sooner" so should've been done more regularly I guess? Personally, I'd have done an oil change every 15k and left the other service items for every 30k as per how he's had it serviced.

If the price is right and the car is in good nick then I'd still buy it.

I once bought a 3 year old car with 120k on the clock, full service history, 1k service after a week, 12k after 3 month etc, all motorway miles and didn't have any probs, much better to have high motorway miles than av miles around town in my opinion. If you want that type of car go for it, its prob a bargain
