Millers Trident 10w40 from paddocks.

Hi guys

i will soon be servicing my disco 300tdi and will be ordering by bits from paddocks ( genuine parts ) as the car has done just over 3000 miles since it was last serviced ( when we bought it from a landy garage last year ) and was thinking of trying the millers trident 10w40 they sell aswell so would like to know from peeps who have used the trident oil and how have they found it.

the reason i ask is when i had my s11a with 200tdi fitted i used castrol magnatec 10w40 which i found was a good oil but too expensive so thinking of using this instead as i can buy 2 x 5lts of the trident oil for the price of the 1 x 4lts of magnatec so would like to here from peeps before i buy

Go to nearest Renault dealer and ask for 20 ltr can motrio 10w40 semi synthetic acea A3/B4 £ 37.50 inc vat.

I have just bought some castrol magnatec off ebay 2 x 4lts for £40 i know its vertually double the price of the millers trident but don't know much about the millers so decided to get the magnatec instead as i have used it before and is good stuff, the car only does about 3-4000 miles a year so will only need servicing once a year so isn't to bad.

If you want to spend £40 on 8 litres of oil thats up to you. As far as Im concerned if it meets the spec required then its good enough. Isn't that Magnatec the stuff that clings to your engine parts [like a magnet]?
