Any one know what the black and red sockets are for on the dash board ? not sure if there a 12v power socket i.e. positive and negative or are they phono sockets for a radio etc. Thanks in advance.

yeah 12v power sockets, they take the military double connector - they are meant for the inspection light/cab light. I made an adapter to make to plug into mine with a normal cigarette lighter type socket on the end.

They are permanent 12v, they work even with the ignition off so dont inadvertently flatten your battery!

Would anyone know what plugs are suitable to plug into the dash...are they just a single pin as it were? I need to do the same thing as what 'Flat' has done.

Thanks Inmates

:D

.

you can get the lucas 2 pin adapter from Blanchards and places like that. Its a twin pin thing although single banana plugs fit aswell which you can get at any electrical shop, maplin for instance

Thanks for taking the time to reply Flat.

Being a complete novice I take it they're just pins and not like e.g. a headphone type double thingy?

Thanks again

:D

nah just plain pins with a slight split in the end, will take a photo tomorrow for you.

Beware though they arent pole specific so you could plug things in backwards and fry them so use coloured tape to distinguish +ve from -ve

Thank you kind Sir.

As an aside I will not be able to reply until Tuesday night to say thanks as I'm testing some off road pistes in Spain along with another 110 tomorrow morning.

Have to do something to get out fo the house :roll eyes:
