Microcat Dongle

Downloaded a copy of Microcat and fook me - it says "dont recognise an Authorised Dongle"

where can one perloin, beg, borrow or make one of these?

Any clues?

A dongle, I am led to believe, is any small device which attaches directly to a computer (not via a cable).

Yeah - I know wot one is - usually a plug wiv links n stuff - occasionally a chip in it - the Q is - can one be made to make Microcat work - or is it a waste of time downloading it?

ah take it yuve tried searchin fer cracks to get it working?

in fairness - no I aint - I just downloaded it from one of the LZ links - so thought someone mite know - I dont like downloading cracks - coz too many of them have been "compromised" and are a haven fur viruses and trojans - unless recomended.

the crack is on the download - but bloody useless - yu need to set the system clock to 09/2006 everytime yu gonna use it - no fookin chance.

So if anyone has a USEABLE copy of Microcat (or a decent crack) please let me know.

I down loaded the same and got that dongle thing to, thought it wiz something wrong wi the program or ma compooter . hav'nt a clue other wise. so looks like I could do with a crack ??? to.

if yu put it on a CD there is a folder called "crack and Instructions".

am workin on summat to change the system date and then load it up and then change it back after

Ear, Mr MHM.
I used to work for car dealers in the IT dept. and.....I have a dongle.
I think its from the FORD microcat, you can have it if you want.
Its a wee plugin device that fits on your printer parallel port.
With Regard to the time changing, I remember that the Microcat at Fords when it was on CD/DVD used to be updated periodically and it used to expire after so many months. so the user HAD to update.
If its an old version you have. over a year old I think. then you may have to change y system time to get it working.

Am just amazed the bits of crap I seem to have lying around. would put magpies out of business.
I assume its the LR microcat you are using.
did y down load it from greenoval?. or somewhere else?.

microcat is the parts system that LR use to look up bits and art numbers when yu go to the stealers.
A dongle is a bit of hardware ( a plug) which yu have to have plugged in to yo PC to allow the program (Microcat) to run.
A crack is another program that kids the main one that it is ok to run (like puts a valid serial number into the program)
so yu can look up part numbers etc.
