It's the same green as mine I think, Epsom metallic, not that mine looks shiny anymore ... ;)

And after breakfast?

Well you did ask ;):D:D:D

And I really do do this with every new DII that I get - usually takes about a week, but I have never ever had one break-down on me;);)

Once I've gone through this style of procedure I know exactly what condition the car is in, not just what I've been told and to be honest the list really isn't that bad to complete- honest:eek::eek::eek:

Nathan, Dave's advice is spot on, especially on the engine bits - you will be really surprised at the difference it makes..........

So what are the benefits of getting rid of the EGR and CAT..?

Sorry I guess I could find that out on many other threads...

Thanks...begs the question, why did they include them in the first place if they're detrimental to the performance and efficiency...

When the egr is new and working it's 'a good thing' from the point of view of fuel efficiency and emissions regulations, but they don't clean themselves very well and eventually suffer.

The cat is mostly to try to get over emissions regs, but again after a few years they are probably negated.

Easiest fix to both is removal ..

In my view the egr can't be a good thing, I mean why re-introduce hot air into the inlet when you're trying your damndest to cool it down via the intercooler in the first place? The oil mist that is inherent just eventually clogs the IC, and associated tubes and pipes ...

Thanks for the info Paul and Biglad...so it's pretty much down to the eco warriors again then...while China, India and the US pollute most of the planet we have to pay for it...

Nathan can I ask what year your new Disco is..?

On a DII TD5 the EGR gases don't go anywhere near the intercooler - however they do cack up the MAP in the inlet manifold.
