max 30mph

I've just after getting a p38 2.5 dse auto ,when i brought it for a test drive everything was good.went to bring it for a drive today and it won't pass 30mph,not showing any warnings.
any one any ideas what might be wrong?

A floor mat wedged under the throttle pedal ?

it wont pass about 2000rpm when in drive,will rev out no problem while in neutral

are the turbo hoses in good order?

This. And the small pipe from the MAP to the inlet manifold.

i'm away from the car at the minute but will check the hoses tomorrow.

Double check the pipe to the MAP sensor , it goes from the underside of the manifold to a little black unit bolted to the filter housing.
Other possibilities include in tank pump failure, binding brakes, binding handbrake.

i need to rev it up quiet high before it will start to move so maybe it is the brakes binding?

I'm no expert but that sounds like gearbox to me.

Jack both wheels on one axle and see if they are free to turn.

When I first got mine it was a bugger pulling away in reverse from cold. New fluid in gearbox, transfer box and diff sorted it.

It could perhaps also be in limp mode.

Wouldn't he get an engine light?

after ordering oil and filters for gearbox so hopefully that might help.Do the auto boxs give much trouble?

If that was the problem, you would need diagnostics such as Nanocom to locate the cause of the problem.
Best start by checking the brakes.
