master cylinder cap

hi all,
why cant you take the cap off the master cylinder,
what does it do if you do.
people keep saying on here don't take it off but no one explains why..........can any one help......thanks in advance

theres no reason you cant do ,though if you need to top it up you have a leak

But there's no bleed nipple on the slave on a freelander....

ok will slightly change the question...... on a 1.8 freelander.... what happens if you take off the cap...

Absolutely nothing !!!! It's a push on cap and is easily removed/refitted. If you decide it needs a top up, use normal DOT 4 Brake fluid. :smokin:

Why would you not take it off?....who said this? Thats what caps are for?

they are supposed to be sealed unit but it only tells you not to take it off on the inside of the cap or it used to .
