    Am I right in thinking the best way to remove and then replace the old Decal is by using a Hair Dryer?

    Yes. Anything that softens the adhesive, without burning the paint will do the trick.

    Hairdryer, should be easy to come by with a freelander ;)

    And some good quality fishing line ;)
