Has anyone got a view on whether an auto or manual is better for greenlaning and generally hooning up and down hills and mud-plugging and stream wading ina Disco??

its all down to personal preference mate, i would go for neither but then i'm a banned bastard

The jury's still out but I've enjoyed the comments! Maybe Buzzcock's gotta point though..and who hasn't shifted from 3rd to 5th sometimes?

In all seriousness... you be frank and I'll be ernest...

....when I lived in the big smoke, I had manuals and wished I had an auto as I was sick of changing 5 gears up and then 5 down again at every #$%^ traffic light...now I am in the outback (not a traffic light for about 600 miles) a Manual would be better for towing and hill climbing etc, but I have an auto.

I don't know about the other 'bastards' (not being one - of course) but I own an auto yet I am pretty much convinced from a lot of long mountain decents and climbs out here in British Columbia - that a manual would give you greater control

whoever started this thing about bastards, is a bastard
In the Body Line cricket series of the 1930s, Jardine (English Captain) went to the Aussie dressing rooms after the match to complain about being called a Bastard out on the pitch. The Aussie that answered the door turned and yelled out to the aussies in the dressing room.."Which one of you bastards called this bastard a bastard?"...Jardine left, shaking his head.

Isnt that a bastard?:D:D:D
