Hello

I have removed T-box and gearbox as found some oil leeks coming from between them. The oil seals were already changed few months ago but it seems that the oil comes from the oil pump. There is an O ring behind, but according to Rave the box has to be partially disassambled for oil pump removal. Does anyone of you have experience with oil pump removal? Do I need to really pull out the gearbox or the oil pump can be removed simply from outside?

It should be removable from the outside. In practice you might struggle to pull it out as it may have been glued in with sealant - removing the pump rear cover would allow you to fashion some method of pulling it (you may damage the pump).

The only 'hard' part about putting it back in is aligning the keyway of the pump sprocket with the shaft end, but that's no easier doing it the 'correct' way.

The torx screws that hold the pump in place will undoubtedly round and need drilling out....

Yes it should be removable (comfirmed by jamesmartin as well) but due to the torx bolt size (only T20) and as mine were glued in I could not remove the bolts.
I have tried with all methods, even the best quality tools, but all broke or deformed.
In my case it seems that the only good way would be: to remove the front case of the box and drill out the screws, making new thread and so on....
As my leak was not major and even not sure if it comes from the shaft oil seal or from the oil pump, I have decided to seal it from outside by using instant gasket. I will change all shaft oils seals, put the box and T box back during the weekend and see if it still leaks. If yes it means that my box has to be opened and as it requires special tool and experience (not really available here) maybe I will buy a recon one from Ashcroft.

Sorry to resurrect this - drill the heads off the screws, leaving the 'posts' - they wind out with fingers once you do this, no need to drill and retap. You might sacrifice the pump cover but small price to pay and these come with the new pumps.

Good idea i will try it next time. The box is already installed and after about 500kms no oil leak.
