manual 2 auto

has anyone done this conversion?
a friend is swapping an '83 auto box into a '72, should he need to modify the driveshafts, and what about any special gaskets??? are any needed??
just checking, as he seems to be draggin his heels with excuses why it ain't finished. he's had it since Mar.
am i expecting too much??

Just put a 89 3.9 engine and auto box in to a 71....dont know if its the same???

The trans. tunnel is different, there will be no handbarake as its attached to the manual gearbox and its not high enough so some cutting will be required. Think the rear props are the same, i used the 89 one coz the rear joint was toast. The front props are different, had to use the 89 one as its longer. The crossmembers are also different, had to use the 89 one to clear the gearbox.
