i have just bought a webber twin choke carb off ebay. it came with an inlet manifold but a broken exhaust manifold. the inlet dosent match upto my exhaust manifold, it leaves a big gap and as theres a big square hole in the top of the exhast manifold it would leak like hell. the new carb also has a different throttle arrangement, its on the opposite side. any ideas what i should do. i dont see why there is an opening between the inlet and exhaust anyway, sumat to do with heating the inlet maybe.

sorry if ive gone on a bit, but this is the only thing left to do to get my landy on the road. its a 72 2 1/2 petrol btw. cheers all

Hi, The big hole is a "hot spot" and is used to help vaperize the fuel, you could make up a plate to close it off, but it will not run well. your best to get the proper weber carb that was a direct replacement and forget about a twin choke.

dont close it off , it will run up to heat and cut out , then keep doing it , will cause nawt but problems,

thas the proper webber setup,

have to try and get a matchin set if manifolds :)

If it's a twin choke, it probably came off a 90/110. You could try a 90 exhaust manifold, it will fit you engine, but you will them have to work out how to connect it to your exhaust, it won't just bolt on. 90s use a throttle cable rather than a rod linkage.
